For those of you in the know about cocktail drums, I salute you. The cocktail drum set is actually a very rare item, once played primarily by 50's swinging jazz types. I can't remember ever seeing anyone actually play one in a club. The kit makes a lot of sense though. The bass drum pedal fits under the tallest "floor" tom, which saves a ton of space. It does not include a traditional bass drum, but usually has a snare / floor tom combination, and a couple of tiny cymbals and a hi-hat. I'm not sure why the cocktail drum set has never really taken off. Here are a couple of photos of the cool looking kit.
