I'm a little late on this but legendary drummer, Mitch Mitchell died on Nov. 12 in Portland, Oregon of natural causes. He was found in his hotel room at the Benson Hotel five days after finishing his last tour. He was 61 years old. Best known as the part of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Mitchell was a jazzy rocker with some serious chops. His last tour, dubbed the "2008 Experience Hendrix tour" just played at the Nob Hill Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco last month. I really wanted to attend. In addition to Mitchell the show featured: Buddy Guy, Kenny Wayne Shepard, Jonny Lang, David Hilgado and Cesar Rosas (Los Lobos), Brad Whitford (Aerosmith), and Hubert Sumlin.
