Above is a photo of Michelle Shocked outside Moe's Alley in Santa Cruz yesterday holding a protest over the recent canceling of her shows after her anti-gay remarks at San Francisco jazz club Yoshi's lead to multiple show cancellations. She got booted at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and the Hopmonk Tavern in the bay area....among other places. Was this protest part performance art....part publicity stunt? As the old saying goes "there is no such thing as bad press...OR....all press is good press." No one had been talking or thinking about Michelle Shocked in a long time before last week....brilliant on her part. I dare you to come up with one Michelle Shocked song or album....see I knew you couldn't. I wonder if she handles her own public relations?
