Dear Family,    April 19, 1989

Hi Guys! I thought it was about time I dropped a line. School is going well, but busy. I have already taken two mid-terms. It is too early in the quarter for exams, don't you think? Well, the classes I'm taking are really interesting. One class I'm taking is called Ethics and Ecology. It is under the philosophy dept. and we have many prominent guest speakers Ken Babbs being one. He is a good buddy of Mr. Ken Kesey, who might just make a surprise visit to our informal seminar of about forty students (small in University terms). Anyway, I really miss you all and wish I could share all of your birthday's and the big 25!!! I hope you guys have fun in Spain, and bring me back some wild exotic percussion toys. Oh, Eric called me this morning at 7:30 A.M. He does not know his brother very well, does he? I was as nice as I could be at that hour. He was calling me from some desert hide-out between Arizo and Utah, I think. Anyway as you've already guessed he decided not to come straight up to Eugene after his Test Site Extravaganza. But says he will try to make it up after he goes back to California for awhile. My feeling is I won't be seeing him in this town this school year. I am really looking forward to my music studied, but also really nervous about it.  I heard from various sources that the weather in Boston is not too ideal in the summer. Maybe I will have to brave it! Are you going to pick me up around the tenth of June? I am already keeping an eye out for housing next year. Hopefully I will share a house with a couple of friends near campus. Call me before you go to Spain O.K.? I love you all and miss you terribly take care and smile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love always,
Jeffrey Moss Esau Charles
