Now I feel like I'm going to have to publish a book. I don't even want to look at the old middle school notes I kept by girls like Heather McGlaughlin and Nettie Mariani.

Homegrown Stars Shine

The Jefferson Airplane, Huey Lewis and The News, Sons of Champlin, and The Steve Miller Blues Band are just a few of the bands which have played at Redwoods d during their early years.  "Marin County is a Mecca for bands and it always has been, and Redwood was the first school to support lunchtime entertainment," explains Assistant Principal Paul Bosque. 

"The Sons of Champlin we're grateful to us because we're on of their first gigs. When they had made it big, they did us a big favor and played our prom dance for a mere $1000. When they were getting paid much, much more than that," says Bosque.

The Jefferson Airplane played when they were just starting out, and weren't really well known.......................
